A serious topic:

This missive is on a serious note. I have been dealing (or trying to) with a husband who has a serious Illness.

The reason I’m writing this is not to be pitied but to show how the people around us can strengthen and help us endure the bad, bad things that happen in our lives.

Hubby has had to endure Melanoma for over twenty years and the unpredictability of this cancer, has become blatantly obvious to all of us. He now has Melanoma stage 4 and his poor body is riddled with the damn stuff.

He is rallying and responding well to the brain surgery and the drugs, and we are feeling more hopeful about the future. Luckily, he is almost back to his “normal” self.

This is the third time our family has endured the scourge of the Australian sunshine. The first occurrence was scary enough, the third onslaught is earth shattering.

The difference is, this time we as a family, have not endured the major vicissitudes of hubby’s treatment and recovery alone. Our kids and our family have always been involved but we are no longer keeping this onslaught a private matter.

Friends have stepped in and helped us cope with the many changes we are encountering, they have been there, through it all, supporting, giving and loving. Never think you are alone in your troubles. If you allow them, your true friends will step in and help.

I simply want to thank them all for their generosity and kindness, and to let them know how much they have helped us. ❤️
