WTF!

You know you’re getting old when you look at young people walking on the street and crossing the roads and say to yourself…WTF!

What I’m talking about is the number of people all of whom appear to be under thirty, who walk across roads with their earbuds in – totally oblivious to the dangers around them.

For god’s sake people –

– I’m on the roads.

And according to my family and the statistics – I am at an age where we hit people crossing the road regularly. Don’t help me hit you by crossing with your headphones in.

I will explain… I’m late (as per usual) and am whizzing around a corner. There in my path on the road stands a young woman as shocked as I was that I had almost hit her.

After recovering my breath and making sure my heart was still beating, I open my window to say sorry, can she hear me… NO.

She has her f…ing earbuds in.

When she pulls them out to hear what I have to say they are so loud I can hear them over the traffic.

Changing my mind about a grovelling apology. I say WTF! Are you f…ing stupid?

After a number of colourful expletives, shared by both of us. We parted ways.

AND…What did I notice?

She had put her earphones back in. Obviously my colourful assessment of her IQ was accurate.

Please people…

When you’re outside pull your head in your earphones out and

Look Around at the world outside take it in and enjoy it.
