As I sit here feeling sick from a head cold. I find myself reading the digital newspaper. SMH has an article about the welfare card. How do the cashless welfare cards work?
Is it just me or does this strike at the heart of our so called democracy? Where is this different from a nazi/nanny state/country?
I personally don’t believe that the majority of welfare recipients are bludgers or worse bludgers and drug addicts.
The need for welfare is not something taken lightly by the recipients. The Government’s and societies attitude towards these unfortunates is that they should be ashamed they have fallen on hard times.
80% of the monies go into a government bank account and the rest goes into your personal account. Call me suspicious but do the government get the interest whilst the money is in their account?
The payment a minimum of $455.20/fortnight, the government holds (for want of a better word) $364.16. That leaves the welfare recipient $91 – a fortnight in their own bank account. To spend on anything they desire (lets not get into the luxury of living on this 😱). Whoopee ducks.
The sad part is even if we voted for labour we get the same bastards and the same antiquated attitudes to running our country.
